Presented by Judith Slaughter, M.A., CEAP, CPS, Executive Director of the Maryland Center for Workplace Health & Safety, Inc. This course on instructor/presenter development is designed to provide participants with the essential elements to successfully present lecture/workshop ideas with maximum impact. “Dynamic Presentations” has been developed to assist an individual in selecting the best teaching method for his or her group and will demonstrate ways to increase your effectiveness through the use of innovative teaching aids. Track 2: Essential Elements of Nonprofit Management……... Recruitment, Retention, Recognition & Release Our panel of experts will each present a fifteen minute overview on essential components of one of the four R’s for effective volunteer/nonprofit management followed by an interactive discussion with attendees to provide an opportunity to gain new skills and ideas for managers. Panel Members: Cyndi Howell, Volunteer Services Manager, Worcester County Government; Valerie Wagner, Volunteer Coordinator, RSVP, Lower Shore of Maryland; Denise Copeland, Administrator, Foster Grandparent Program, Shore Up!; And Hazel Ricker, Director of Volunteer Services, MAC, Inc.

1:00 p.m. Essential Elements of “Energizing The Spirit”…….. Presented by Catherine W. Molz, LCSW-C, Clinical Social Worker associated with Frederick Psychology Center, LLC & a consultant with Worcester Youth & Family Services, Inc. Nonprofit managers not only provide leadership for the agency’s staff but also serve as an inspirational leader to the agency’s volunteers and community patrons. It is a job that often calls for the above and beyond effort in order to achieve your mission. This training will help managers learn essential keys to excel in their positions through continuing renewal of their energy and spirit for getting the job done.

This association meets quarterly to offer professional development opportunities for members, to network with professional peers and to facilitate volunteer opportunities for all nonprofits on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Annually in July the association hosts a crab feast for all members.

Approximately 1.5 miles turn left onto Woods Rd. Hospital is .4 mile on your right. From East take Rt 50 to Cambridge and turn left onto Rt 16 South (light at WalMart Plaza). Follow directions as above.
